The Visionary Norman foundation, as part of its commitment to providing basic essential needs and support to less privileged societies within the country, has again made a community outreach aimed at providing the pupils and habitants of the Kyeaboso community with a number of educational materials and an eye screening section.
Among many
items donated were learning materials such as school bags, exercise books, pens
& pencils, shoes and uniforms.
The
materials were given out with the hope of meeting pressing needs of pupils in
the community who might be facing difficulties in acquiring such essential materials
due to the current economic hardships in the country or for other unknow
reasons.
Volunteers
and team members were tasked to carefully distribute the items equally among
the pupils ensuring that each pupil received what is needed most per their
situations and in the right sizes and numbers.
This was to
make for adequate use and fair distribution of the resources provided whilst
ensuring the beneficiaries are excited and content with what was given to each
of them.
As captured,
the headmaster of Kyeaboso D/A Basic School, Mr. Gabriel Dwomah emphasized how
timely the resources had come and also continued to thank the sponsors and
donors of the benevolent gesture stating the long-lasting impact on the
community’s education drive.
“These
supplies will make a world of difference for many of our students who
previously lacked basic items,” he was quoted saying.
“The smiles
on their faces made every effort worthwhile,” remarked also a volunteer.
As evidently
seen, most of the pupils who had come to school in torn clothes or shoes etc.
went back home with new shoes, uniforms and others.
It is
believed that these materials would go a long way to motivate the pupils to
study hard and perform well in their academics as well as ease a bit of
pressure on their parents who are mostly small-scale farmers. Most of the
pupils expressed their appreciation to the organization.
Whilst
engaging the pupils with the donations and some interactive sessions, the
Visionary Norman Foundation also extended its` outreach to the health and
wellness of the pupils by a means of an eye screening exercise.
The team
included an optometrist who was available to conduct the screening tests.
With the
help of other volunteers and staff, the team was able to diagnose and recommend
treatment options for pupils who were probably affected with problems of sight
and vision.
This was to
ensure that the pupils could be free from potential health issues associated
with the eyes and vison so as there is no hindrance to their academic feats.
The founder
and President of the Visionary Norman Foundation, Mr. Abraham Norman Nortey in
his talk, addressed the need for providing the educational and health needs of the
young ones echoing how important this is to the future of the community and the
country at large.
“We believe
that providing Children with the right educational tools and ensuring their
health is paramount to their success. We are committed to making sure that no
child is left behind,” he emphasized.
He mentioned
“This intervention addresses two of the most pressing needs in our schools-access
to learning materials and healthcare. The foundation has done an exemplary job.
The Visionary Norman Foundation, a not for profit non-governmental
organization since its` establishment has been embarking on similar activities
across the country as part of its mission to provide support and relief to
deprived societies and individuals within the country touching lives and
bringing hope to the hopeless.
